Organický materiál je jedním ze zdrojů v Astroneeru. Lze vyrábět sbíráním světle zbarvených kytek na povrchu planet pomocí Deformačního nástroje nebo zelených kapek vedle jeskynních rostlin. Jeho hlavním účelem je generovat energii pomocí malého generátoru. Příležitostně se organické rostliny nacházejí na jiných planetách než je Terran. Organický materiál lze přetavit v tavící peci na Karbon.

- Edged Organic: Most common of all, found when collecting plants
- Cuboid Organic: Uncommmon, found etched on a side of rocks on Barren planets
- Droplet Organic: Rare, may be found when using the deform tool on the Arid's tumblespikes or on lure plants.
Semínka[ | ]
Semínka lze získat zničením Spiker. Vypadají podobně jako malý Spiker, ale neútočí na hráče. V současné době se nepoužívají při craftingu, ale mohou být umístěny do libovolného prázdného úložného prostoru. Také je můžete vysadit všude tam, kde budete chtít, ale jakmile dorostou budou opět napadat hráče.
Seeds can be planted by simply dropping them onto the ground and will slowly mature into full-grown Spikers. No special location is required; they can be planted in all types of terrain, both underground or on the surface. Dropping a Seed anywhere will initiate its growth phase. A full germination cycle from seed to mature plant with functional spikes takes 4 minutes. Growing Spikers can not be destroyed by digging around them, but will become vulnerable again once fully mature and will drop 2 more Seeds if they are uprooted. Spiker seeds will quickly disappear if they are not picked up. Spikers grown in this manner behave exactly like wild ones, stabbing players who come too close and dropping more Seeds on death.
